About us
We are educators and we support educators. We work to amplify the effects of educators and education by spreading skills and opening doors.
Initially, our focus will be on supporting Python educators.
Why Python?
This community is quite young. And education is quite vast. It's important to start off by focusing on a niche that we can win at.
The reason we are working with Python initially is because:
- It's a great first programming language to learn
- The global Python mega-community is already putting a lot of effort into teaching Python, we can amplify that
- The skills of teaching Python can be adapted to teaching different things
Other technologies and languages
The fact that we are focusing on Python does not mean we are closing the door to anything else. We are very open to opportunities to do good in other places.
If you are not a Python person but what we do resonates with you, you are more than welcome to join the community or get in touch.
Longer term
We've chosen a very specific niche to start off with: software development in Python. But a lot of what is relevant in this niche is relevant elsewhere.
As we build up our community and resources, we plan to expand in a few different directions. There are a lot of different options and opportunities and the next steps will be chosen based on the needs and abilities of our members, and the potential impact of different activities.
The sky is the limit here. While the techniques used to teach software development might be very specific to one domain, those techniques will be based on foundational, evidence-based teaching and learning principles.
What we do
First and foremost, we are a community. You can find out more and join the community here.
Community members are able to take part in discussions and attend events that focus on sharing specific skills and knowledge
We also offer services to organizations that work in education (eg: coding bootcamps, universities, etc).
